This Conference takes place every 4-5 years and allows for networking across the entire Tribunal membership of around 350 members.
Programme
In the morning there will be three Keynote Speakers :
Humza Yousaf MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Justice
The Rt. Hon Lord Carloway, Lord President
Jonny Benjamin MBE, a mental health services user who published a book called “On the bridge”. Jonny will speak about his experiences of mental illness and what he found helpful in terms of the support provided by mental health services and others.
In the afternoon, there will be a feedback session from the Edinburgh Napier University project on user involvement.
Finally there will be a series of 6 to 8 workshops which will deal with a variety of subjects, from the legal ethics of detention to modern care in dementia.
